Did we win one of the Cirencester Radio Community Awards 2025?
At the prestigious awards ceremony last night (30th April) in Cirencester. Steve Kaufmann made an early attempt to place our Parky Pals submission in pole position by cosying up to Julie Kent MBE, the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire, who was to announce the award winners and runners-up.
Steve and the Sheriff
Not one to miss the opportunity to be noticed, Steve pulled on his neatly pressed CPWFC shirt.
Meanwhile, Steve Boss manned the CPWFC table at the side of the hall and drew a large audience. A long queue of ladies was eager to learn more about walking football. One was keen to learn more about her husband’s (a club member) footballing performance. She said, “My husband comes home from the club’s sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with a smile”. Not one to miss an opportunity, Steve used his charm and networking skills and came away with many contacts, which he will pursue.
Carlo Vuolo, who had put the submission together on behalf of the club, led the club’s delegate onto the stage to receive a runners-up certificate.
Carlo, on the stage with the Sheriff
Not one to miss the opportunity to be noticed, Carlo modelled his new knee-length CPWFC shorts.
Yes, we didn’t win. However, we were shortlisted.
Finally, Steve Boss had to leave via the back door as another queue of jewelled bedecked ladies was waiting for him at the front door.
All had a good night.
